What is picnic & Peonies?

Picnic & Peonies is a luxury picnic, tablescape, and event styling company in Washington, D.C. and Manhattan. We host pop-up events from 2-300 people in D.C. and Manhattan, whether it's at a park or in someone's home, providing the furniture, styling, and wow factor.

Where can i have a picnic?

There is a drop-down menu with suggested locations for both the DMV and NYC while booking through our website. Picnics can also take place in private locations, like your home, rooftop, or office - large and small spaces work! If you need help choosing a location, we can help you select the best one for your event.

How far in advance should i book?

We suggest everyone reaches out to us as soon as possible, even if the event date is several months away. We typically book out three-four weeks in advance during peak season, but don’t hesitate to reach out your event date is sooner than that - we’ll see if we can fit you in!

what if the weather’s bad?

A little weather can’t stop us. We can either move the picnic to an indoor location or we can reschedule it for another date. However, we won’t be able to completely cancel the picnic once booked. We need to know at least 48 hours in advance if you’d like to move the location or date. Also, please note that weather can impact the style and décor of your event. For example, if it’s too windy, we will not be able to provide our white cloth umbrellas or tents of any kind.

what is your cancellation policy?

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to book all picnics and events. If you decide to cancel your event due to unforeseen circumstances, we can process a 50% refund, if cancelled more than two weeks prior to your event. No refund will be processed if your event is cancelled within two weeks of your scheduled event. However, we are happy to reschedule your event to another date (within a year from your originally scheduled date) that works for both parties.

Are food and beverages included?

We don’t provide food for our picnics in the DMV, but we do work with amazing catering partners, who we are happy to share with our clients! Otherwise, we’ll send you our list of recommended foods to enjoy.

What happens if it rains and i order additional food in nyc?

All food through our NYC catering partner is made to order. We require anyone who orders additional food options to let us know at least 48 hours in advance if they’d like to postpone their picnic. Otherwise, all food orders will need to be picked up, or they can be dropped off for an additional fee. If we don’t hear anything ahead of the 48-hour window, we cannot apply the same food credit to a picnic at a later date.

do you travel for picnics?

We certainly can! If you’d like us to travel outside the DMV or Manhattan, please contact us for more info. However, we typically travel within a 15-mile range for each of our respective locations.

how long is each picnic?

Picnics in the DMV and NYC are two hours long. You can add on time for any picnic, but we highly recommend parties over 8 people to add time. If you do plan on adding on time, we ask that you give us at least 48 hour notice. If you’re at the picnic and want to add on more time, please contact your picnic stylist to see if they can accommodate - your request cannot be guaranteed once the picnic has already started.
